1. The Club recognises the needs of individuals and respects their need to be registered with more than one club.
2. We would like to be kept informed (in writing) if the individual is elsewhere because:
a) We may see less of the individual, which may have an impact on team selection. Reduced attendance at K.S.C may mean selection criteria are not met.
b) Performance could be affected in the short term due to an increase in training.
c) We need to know if you are unhappy with any aspect of our training program so that we can consider introducing other methods if required.
3. The club recognises that swimmers who have been selected for Nottingham Nova follow a strict training and attendance routine but we ask that they swim at least one K.S.C session a week to be considered for club competitions.
4. Our annual club championships are for first claim swimmers only. Below is the definition of a first claim swimmer as stated in A.S.A Law 407.3
“If a swimmer is a member of more than one club and two or more of those clubs are entered in the same club competition, then the club for which he/she has the longest unbroken membership shall have the first claim on his/her services in that competition. If the club which has the first claim on his/her services does not exercise that claim then the club for which he/she has the second longest unbroken membership shall have the next claim on his/her services and so on”.
5. Any swimmer who takes part in another club’s annual club championships for trophies will not be eligible to compete for trophies in our club championships.
6. Attention is drawn to the following quote from the clubs handbook.
“Twice weekly attendance would be expected at the younger age increasing as the swimmers progresses with the club. If the minimum requirement is not achieved, membership will cease, unless there are exceptional circumstances e.g. temporary illness or serious injury. Anyone who is not able to comply with these criteria should advise a committee member as to their reasons so that their squad membership can be maintained.”
7. The club committee shall have the power to refuse the entry of any member for a club gala or competition who has, in their opinion, failed to offer commitment to the club including attendance at training sessions and being available for competitions when selected.
