Kimberley S.C is a family friendly, teaching club whose mission is to teach and develop swimmers to achieve to the best of their ability and hopefully represent the club at inter-club galas, in the Nottinghamshire leagues, County Galas and in the Midland District Competitions.

 

OUR PHILOSOPHY AND AIMS

 

We are a club for all and aim to attract youngsters from all sections of the local community and introduce them to swimming.

 

We believe in our swimmers having fun, enjoying their sport but also ask them to work hard, learn and strive to improve.

 

We are also keen to provide a healthy social side to the club and arrange a number of events during the year.

The success of our club is largely due to the commitment and skill of Kimberley’s team of qualified staff –all volunteers - and the opportunities the club offers to young swimmers. We offer a progression route into Squad Training for those swimmers who reach the required level. For those who can swim at least one length, swimmers can enter our annual Novice Gala – a gala that introduces swimmers to competitive swimming.

 

We offer a Learn to Swim Scheme working to the A.S.A National Plan for Teaching Swimming. Our small pool and improver sessions work on all aspects of the N.T.P up to Stage 7, learning in an environment geared towards the FUNdamentals of swimming and the A.S.A’s long term athlete development plan.

Once the swimmer has reached Stage 7 we offer a route into Competitive Swimming.
